Some time ago I posted an ad for a non-member in Georgia wishing to sell the remaining parts stock of a deceased club member (her father). The seller still has most everything and was contacted by an individual by the name of Richard Powers from Idaho who offered to buy everything. He mailed a "cashiers check" for more than the asking price and told the seller to give the extra to the person picking up the parts. Of course, the check is no good and will bounce, leaving the seller without both the parts and the overage she gave the person picking up the parts.
Fortunately, she called me and I told her of the scam so she was one of the lucky ones.
So, be aware that if you list items on craigslist or another similar site, there are folks looking to divest you of both the item you're selling, as well as some of your hard earned cash.
