light '48 colors

I've pretty much decided to leave the most of my car it's original Buckeye Maroon, but I would like to spice it up a little by making it a 2 tone.  I'd like to put a light color on the top and have those below to choose from.  Many people have counseled against relying on old paint chips so I'm hoping someone, or various people, can send me, or tell me where I can find, pictures of the following colors, including their names, so I can select what I think would work best with the maroon.

99% of old paint chip pages from the 1940's have not faded from new and that is about the only way to see the various available colors for 1948,  Photographs of the cars from old collections or magazines are almost worthless as they will have faded over the years and the old type of development of photo negatives do not show accurate color shades.  1948 Kaiser-Frazer color chip pages are readily available on eBay for under $10.00 and they used actual paint samples when made.  Some 1948 K-F cars had different colored wheels and that is another way to put a little color in your overall paint scheme.

Thanks for the tip on the wheels.  I think I'll do that.  Also, your words of advice were a strong factor in my deciding to stay with Buckeye Maroon for the majority of my car.  I ordered 3 old chip sheets off E-Bay last night, but even on those I could see somewhat different colors for what was supposedly the same color and paint codes on the different chips.  And I should have been clearer about the pictures I'd like to see.  What I really would like to see are recent restorations of our cars using color true formulas of the paints used  by Kaiser in '48.  I think I have narrowed my search now to Lambswool Cream, Doeskin (Sandstone) and Coral Sand (for the top, to go along with the maroon lower down).  So if anyone knows of someone who has painted those colors in the last 10-20 years I'd sure appreciate being told who they are.  Who can tell me what the difference is between 181 Doeskin Sandstone and 184 Doeskin?

Hello again,  My 1947 Graham Paige Frazer is painted Lambswool Cream and it looks just like in the paint chips.  When you get your chips in the mail unless they are damaged you should readily see the difference in the various colors.  If you have questions then we will try to answer them for you.
