Brake hardware
« on: July 02, 2017, 02:25:12 PM »
I'm looking for a 51 Deluxe lower front brake spring... Does anybody have one that I can buy? The KFparts source doesn't have any. I wish that I could find a hardware kit and just do all of the brakes.

I would try Rock Auto or Kanter or a match up at NAPA, good luck you may find something useful.

Hi take your springs or whats left of them to a brake shop that's been long in the business and have them to find a match for your springs, I did that and it worked.

The car is in pretty good condition. It's completely original and unmolested. 84,00 mi . This car was on TV on some old show.
Anyway, I sent the gas tank out to be flashed which seemed solid to me and I just talk to the guy a minute ago when he said there's all holes in the top of the tank from rust. Are there any gas tanks available for my car? Do you want to see pictures of it?

Your car uses the kidney shaped tank which would be the same for all full size Kaisers from 1951 thru 1955. Occasionally one will appear on ebay and sometimes they're listed for sale in our club newsletter. If you're a member you can run a free want ad - I'm sure someone has a spare.

I just came back from the radiator shop that has my gas tank. I inspected it and saw what the owner was talking about. He said he was going to cut it open and sandblast the interior and evaluate the situation And call me with a price. He seem to be solid. I'll wait until tomorrow and see what happens.

Out of curiosity, does anybody know what a tank is worth today.?

The last used one I saw on ebay was listed for $500 and that was a few weeks ago.

I'm looking for the front stabilizer rubbers(bushings) and the rubbers for the front and rear wing window's. I actually need all the door and trunk rubbers as well. I can't find a thing. Any ideas?

I got my tank rebuilt for $350. It took 3 weeks but it came out real nice. The only problem I have with the tank assembly is the sending unit. I bought from kfparts for $105. I'm afraid I will have to drop my tank again to deal with this.

Is there any leads with door and trunk rubbers?

You started this thread about brake hardware.
Now you are asking about stabilizer components.
There may be someone out there with a wealth of knowledge about stabilizer parts but would not know about your questions since they are buried in a brake component thread.

Make sense??
