Engine Gray
« on: September 30, 2017, 03:16:04 PM »
It appears i have 3 slightly different shades of engine gray between an early '52 engine I have and the early '54 engine. Generator bracket is off the '54, bell housing is also '54 and seems a bit greener. Side valve cover is on the '52 and always looks creamier photographed on the engine. Splotch on the paint can lid was color matched to the side valve cover when I sent it in.

I'm beginning to think there wasn't a "hard & fast" formula to the engine gray. I also found the '52 and '54 seat frames to be slightly different shades of gray, '52 a browner gray, '54 a bluer gray.
