My Uncle Cecil Hanneman bought his own Christmas Present in 1947 on December 19, 1947, a Kaiser Special.

He was a WWII Navy Veteran who contracted PTSD and later died in the Topeka Veterans Hospital after many decades of tormentation.

I bought his car from his Guardian in 1968 with only 13,000 miles showing.  It had been in my Grandmother's pasture in Kansas for more than 20 years with cattle scratching marks and weather effects.

My wife drove this car for about 8 years in the 60's and 70's with our two small sons as cargo.

We placed the car in a dry storage barn in 1976 and pulled it out again about two years ago.  It is nearly original, and runs and has 23,000 miles now.

I hope Uncle Cecil is enjoying his Christmas present to all of us who have had much more fun with his astute purchase than he did.
