So many survived.  But, few of these are finding owners willing to dig in and restore. 

That was different 30 years ago. 

Plenty of restoration "stock" out there and the general homogeneity of the KF's for 9 years, meant plenty of parts.
No old cars owned.

30 yrs ago restoration costs were cheaper, plus the cars back then had 3 decades less age on them to contend with. Not many cars turn up that you wouldn't be hopelessly upside down on early in the restoration process.
