1953 Allstate Heater Core
« on: December 30, 2012, 01:51:42 AM »
Hello fellow Kaiser Frazer owners. I own a 1953 Allstate and i am relatively new to this site. My car has the allstate brand heater core and it has started to leak. I was wondering before i try to patch it if anybody knew where to get a new one or if any other cars of the same era had the same or similar heater core? Any information is appreciated.

Your heater was made by the Red Head heater company ans is identical to the Henry J heater of the same physical look excepy for the script ,which is removeable.

Thanks for the information Corsairdeluxe. i knew henry js used that heater but always thought it was made by allstate never knew it was made for both by red head. Learn something new everyday. Does anybody reproduce the heater core for the red head or henry j?

Sears Roebuck & Company does not have its own manufacturing system and never has.  Everything Sears-branded is contracted out to individual companies, some of them captives (Sears is their only or biggest customer) such as Kaiser Fleetwings in PA was thanks to the Hobart contracts that paved the way for K-F to get an in with the company.

Alstate 53,

I have several parts heaters of this type. Let me look through them and see if any of the cores look good. I would sell them untested for a real good price if I have one.

It looks like the lower "spout" or whatever you call it on the photo from Dave, can be unsoldered and replaced with a straight pipe out to match the style Jim posted. Also glad to "see" you here too Dave.   "Not the Craw! The Craw!"
