Darrin interior...
« on: November 11, 2017, 10:55:42 AM »
Beginning to plan my winter projects and completing the the seats frames, bottoms and seat upholstery is one of my candidates to consider...my interior is white and unfortunately that one is not available in the manufacturing fund. With that said, I recall reading past blurbs and articles that leather was to be an option...so curious to know, has anyone found a GOOD white upholstery to match or go the way of leather?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Noah

You must have a later yellow Darrin they had white interior. I like the yellow interior I think it looks more elegant. But to make it correct it should be white.
Some one here will probably have a vinyl #. Maybe white like the steering wheel.

Wow...I can’t believe this is an old post, but I still haven’t gotten any response on the white pin crush vinyl availability:-/ I started the wooden seat bottoms and am still looking for anyone who may have replaced the white interior. I was shopping around a few upholstery places this week and was versed on the old vinyl that used the cotton backing(used on the Darrin)...was told it can be used but not as durable as some of the newer backings that make it more pliable. Also, I was being encouraged to maybe think about using a marine grade vinyl. Holds up better allegedly??? Any thoughts? Suggestions? Also, since mine sat out for some time the white interior isn’t so white anymore and the shade of white really has me guessing...much like the yellow satin. I’ve been looking at exterior pics of the yellow satin and some of them look more like a canary yellow then a satin..anyway, any help on white vinyl suggestions?

Noah

I’m sure there will be several Darrins at the National meet. I’m sure one will have a white interior...if so I’ll check to see where they sourced the material.
