1951 Kaiser Ignition Coil

Kaiser Friends....
Can anyone tell me what the original coil number is for my 1951 Deluxe?  I expect it's a Delco number, but I don't have any idea what the number is....or maybe it's Autolite?

Any Help Appreciated...

A '51 Kaiser would be Delco.  The NAPA number for a replacement is ECH IC7

We don't have any more NAPA stores anywhere near me.  They all went out of business years ago.

Do you know the Delco Number?

From the 1951 Kaiser service standards booklet:

Delco Remy Coil - 1115327
It also lists a Servicing Coil No 1155238

It also lists an Autolite number CR-6009 if the car should be Autolite equipped.

Thank You.  That is exactly what I needed!

I have a 1951 Parts Manual, but unlike other Parts Manuals I own, does not give a cross reference to the manufacturer's number.  Of course assuming that my aged eyes didn't overlook it.

David, as a member of the KFOCI you get FREE ad space for an item in the WANTED section of the KFOCI MONTHLY BULLETIN.  You should be getting this each month in the mail (if you opted for hard copy version) or monthly via email if you  asked for that version instead.

The monthly newsletter of the club is a good source to check the FOR SALE ads as well as putting in an asking for info or parts info.

Originally the 1951 Kaisers were equipped with Delco-Remy electrical parts; use of Auto-Lite electrical parts began during November 1950 on cars NOT equipped with the automatic transmission.

Unless you are concerned about originality pretty much any 6 volt coil will work.

Otherwise, the ignition coil for a 1951-54 Chevy light-duty pick-up truck is interchangable according to the United Motor Service reference guide that many gas stations used in the 1960's for Delco-Remy electrical parts.  the UMS number is a 1115380 or in short form, a U-502.   (August 1960 edition of the book).

David: If you have a Delco Number or a NAPA number or several other numbers, you can go to a parts stores such as O'Relys and ask for a crossover.
These car parts stores may not have a specific listing for a KF car but the crossover may turn up what you need.
As an example: I needed an ignition resistor and I had a NAPA part number. O'Rely's online catalog didn't list what I wanted, but by supplying a NAPA, they were able to produce what I needed.
