lost keys
« on: August 15, 2018, 04:44:30 PM »
I some how managed to lose a set of keys for my 53 kaiser deluxe.  Not so easy to find a spare set around here.  Luckily an old key i have for a 51 ford worked in the ignition so at least i have been able to drive the old girl.  Any one have any suggestions on how to remedy this problem.  I dont really want to pop a lock out and take it to a locksmith but that may be the only option.  Just wondering if any one else had this problem and where i can get an original key blank.  Weird thing is a set of keys were missing out of a van in my yard as well so not sure if someone liked my keys more than me or if i hid them both very well and forgot the hiding place.

As previously mentioned, KF key blanks are available for the 51-55 cars. The glove box lock should be the same as the ignition and the door locks are the same as the trunk. Both are easy to remove and any good locksmith should be able to cut new keys.

Member Richard Hansen in Corning CA makes exact duplicate new key blanks for about $10.00 a set.  His phone # is 530 824 2331.  They are just like the originals.

I had no keys for the door locks on my 53;  I took the car over to a lock guy and he made new keys.  It was like magic!  I can lock the car now!
