Champagne white
« on: October 03, 2019, 06:17:37 PM »
Does anyone know if the paint color champagne white used on any other car but the darrin.
Does anyone have a current paint code for champagne white?
My white car is not the original color.
Thanks

I have been told that the color is the same as Ford's Wimbledon White...used on early Mustangs. I repainted the dash on my car using the Ford color and it looks very, very close.

Thanks
I have heard that I think it is a little too white but haven’t been able to find out anything else. I use that color on the steering wheel.

Wimbleton white is not a pure white but a light cream color.  It was Fords standard white for many years and is the color of my Mustang.

If you go to a good paint store or auto parts that still mixes...there are a number of Alternates(meaning get different mixes/batches) of Wimbledon white...they will note slightly darker, lighter, whiter...etc) as for the champagne and yellow satin, I have searched all the old books and have never found any crosses or actual listings:-(

Try tcpglobal.com or autocolorlibrary.com , support@tcpglobal.com is their email. My local suppliers have exhausted all of their intelligence and are of no use anymore as far as color matching, so after more than 50 years in this business I turned to this company. I ended up with a perfect color match for the latest addition to the collection, a 1941 Cadillac convertible, with no hassle. Their phone is (858)909.2110. Give them a try, hopefully they can help.

Gary.

Thanks I Will
The new paints change color with the color of primer used the type or reducer used, weather it is single stage or base coat clear coat.
I do not think you will ever see two cars the same color look the same.
smooth and shiny thats what matters.
