Haggerty Insurance has a daily blog available on line and today it has a nice discussion on Kaisers and Frazer's. Everything goes along fairly accurately until they get to the Darrin section and mentions that the bodies were made by Glasspar in Costa Mesa CA and that old false rumor that we all cringe over stating that the last 50 cars were purchased by Dutch Darrin and sold with superchargers or Cadillac engines. Old false rumors started many years ago by undocumented sources are hard to stop like the one about Earl Muntz making Kaiser trucks or the one about the early Frazer's having painted grills. Only the prototype did but all of the early ads and sales literature showed the cars with painted grills. Apparently all of the sales literature was designed and printed before he final design of he car was approved.
