1949 Kaiser 4 door Convertible
« on: February 23, 2020, 05:36:35 PM »
I just returned from the Petersen Automotive Museum and was surprised by this beauty!!!

The owner, Steve Winkler, is from New York and comes out here to Los Angeles five months out of the year and stores his car here when he is not here.   He says he purchased the car in 1999 and it wins where ever it is displayed.

He says he is a club member, ??.

On these color cars, was the Kaiser in the front painted as well???

Having spoken to Steve Winkler, I know he is a member of the club and has an excellent Kaiser convertible.

You asked if the Kaiser in front was painted. Not sure if you are referring to the word in the bumper or the K on the hood. I have a 49 Indian ceramic and there is no paint on the word in the bumper and the logo on the hood is the same as the car you have pictured. Brian

I was referring to the KAISER on the front bumper and from what I remember, around the K on the hub caps.   I can't remember where I saw/read this but it is what I thought was done.

Hubcap centers on the 49-50 Kaisers were painted a matte silver (frosted). They were not color keyed to the car. That holds true for all other KF caps as well.

Also, I have an NOS upper grille bar for a 49-50 and the KAISER is not frosted.
