power steering conversion from manual

At age 86 I just can't wrestle the manual steering. Am I better off gathering all the parts for an original KF power steering, or should I just let a shop install power steering from any other make car that would fit.

The power steering system used on late 1950's AMC Ramblers works very well on 1951-55 Kaisers. Contact KFOCI club member Dale Hammon for more information. He's in the KFOCI Membership directory.

You can also put 35 pounds of air in the front tires which will make steering a little easier.

Thank you. I didn't realize tire pressure was so low (20psi). Increased it to 32psi--big improvement. Might still go with power conversion at some point.

So I spoke to Dale this morning to get a bit more info on using a Rambler PS unit on these cars.
He stated that a late 50s up to about 1965 Rambler PS unit should work, though the fuel line may need to be rerouted to make it work.
