1951 original Kaiser for sale

If anyone is interested, I saw a '51 Kaiser 4 dr up for auction by Meacham Auctions Sept 26-27 in Carlisle, Iowa.  VIN K-512 013367. 65,000 miles.  Ran when parked--however long ago that was.  Appears to be a complete original car with all moldings, chrome trim, dash, etc.   Engine compartment looks all there. 3-speed. 
No underbody photos.  Found it on Proxibid.  Looks like it's offered by VanDerBrink auctions, lot 226c, 70 of 100.

Yup.  But as a new member I didn't realize there was one.

The numbers on the Body Information tag (the larger tag  mounted on the firewall) make this a rather interesting earlier production car.

To begin with, the TRIM number is 2138, a number that does not appear in my stuff but should be for a stockholm or Richmond cloth that was only used in early production.  Transmission is overdrive which was a required option on Deluxe series models in 1951 unless Hydra-Matic was specified.  What is more interesting is the Accessory Group (4 on the body tag) and the SCHED number (91).   AG 4  was the first  group of items put into 1951 Kaisers and should NOT have the following items seen on most 1951 Kaiser Deluxe models:
       
     Tenite Plastic Steering Wheel
      Electric Clock
      Electric Windshield Wipers

The clock started in late June/Early July 1950 in accessory group 6, while the Tenite steering wheel, and electric windshield wipers did not appear until rround August 25th in Accessory Group (reference K-F Confidential Bulletins 45 and 48, all dealers series).  If should have vacuum booster fuel pump and the same steering wheel as the Kaiser Special. but with a Honn Ring as well as working horn button. 

Best guess based on available information is that the body was POSSIBLY one of the last bodies built up with Accessory Group 4 during June 1950 and door post serial number (in the auction description photo array but not attached here) suggest the car came off the production line in the first production week or so of July 1950.  At tlis point, it would probably be safe to assume that K-F was still shipping to distributors and direct dealers against "any color" and "any trim" orders they placed. 

This unusual situation doesn't make the car worth any additional money than any other regular 1951 Kaiser Deluxe 4-door sedan but in my humble opinion, makes the car an unusual bit of company history.
