I heard Larry's Parts have been sold.  Do we know who picked them up???

Nobody knows at this time who bought the inventory.

I was told by the gentlemen handling the sale that one of Larry's local friends purchased the parts and hopes to have them available by April or May.

This is a beautiful Virginian but the sticker price seems high to me.  One here locally wont sell at 15K and it has power windows.

Was that ever an option on Kaisers (power windows) or an aftermarket add on?

Power Windows were offered during the 1949-1950 model run on Kaiser Virginians (trico vacuum), 1949-50 Kaiser Convertibles (Dura hydraulic) and 1951 Frazer Manhattan Hardtops and Convertib les (Trico on hardtops, Dura on convertibles).  While the initial order guide Confidential Bulletin for 1949 model year car s showed power windows may have been available for Frazer Manhattan 4-door sedans as an extra cost option , none have surfaced and factory documents suggest it was only limited to Frazer convertibles.

I was just surprised that power windows might even have been an option at that early date...for some reason I think of it as a 60s thing...

The power windows of the late 1940's and 1950's were mostly non-electric.  They rely on either manifold vacuum or a hydraulic pump to function and are prone to problems right from the start.   Dale Hammon and his son Steve down in Beloit WI worked on one or two of them over the years.  You can get more details on what they had t o cop with from therm.
