Tires
« on: April 20, 2021, 09:06:11 AM »
Hello Kaiser Club,
Am in need of new tire. I am going from BIAS to RADIALS. Currently, the tires on my 1953 Kaiser Manhattan are  7.10-15. Should I stay with that? It would be 710-R15.
     Thank you.

Standard tire size for 1951-55 Kaisers (except 1953 Dragon; they were the only cars from this time period with 7.10 x 15 as factory equipment) was 6.70 x 15, with Goodyear as primary supplier.

Be advised you may find steering and/or suspension much different and may need tweaking for the different type of tire construction.

Daniel, does your car have power steering?

If not, you want bias ply tires, properly inflated...radials will make steering at low speeds much harder.
