First of all I would like to thank for being the club historian and for all the information you have provided on this forum. I read it every day,and as far as it being OUR club I thought I would give you a little background.
I was raised with Kaisers, my Dad was a minister and purchased his first Kaiser in 1948, it was a '47 Kaiser, he then bought a new Frazer in 1949, in 1951 A new Kaiser and then a new '53 followed by a new '54 that he traded away in '55 when Kaiser ceased production, and that was a sad day for him. The last two Kaisers he had he picked up at Willow Run and drove home. In 1954 at 16 my first car was a '51 Henry J and as with all first cars I loved it.
Years later in the late 60's my Dad bought a '54 Kaiser which he restored himself. It was not a car for the 'purists' because it had putty in it and that sort of thing but he did it himself. He was proud of the car and received a 4th place ribbon at the national in Hershey, a ribbon I still have in my trophy case, by the way. He was a long time member of the club and always waited for the bulletin and his Seaway Socialbles. He and I attended the Homecoming at Willow Run as well as many Seaway meets. His name was Loren Holt and he knew many of the early members.
Now many years later I have rejoined the club and have aquired a '51 Henry J,and it has brought back many fond memories.
My Dad and I didn't worry about whether the parts were original or reproduction as long as they were right, what we both,as well as my sons, care about is the 'Marque'.
The judging, as with many other things may have gotten out of hand, but I think I speak for many members, we are here because we love the cars.
Thank You for the job you do.
