CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND A KAISER REPAIR MAN IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA?

I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME WITH THIS BIG PROBLEM.

The Kaiser's electrical system is 6 volts. The generator is not charging the battery. There is a new voltage regulator on it, but there is no signal from the ignition.  Also, the system is positive earth- which means the positive wire from the battery is hooked to the chassis/body.
 
I am totally unfamiliar with this setup.
 
There is a toggle switch underneath the dash, and if it's off, the engine won't start, it will crank however.  I am suspecting that there is a problem with the wiring, and being positive earth, it's very easy to make a mistake if someone is unfamiliar with the system.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO?

Tom, positive ground really does not effect the general operation of the electrical system, it just means the current flows in the other direction.  The way these cars worked originally is you turn the key to the center position (so it is straight up and down) and press the starter button on the left side of the steering wheel - that's all that's needed and it should start and run. If there is a toggle switch then it was added later by a previous owner/restorer. The toggle switch could be for an electric fuel pump and if that's the case it will have to be in the correct position for the engine to start and run. Again, postive ground has no effect on it.
If your charging system is not working, it could be the brushes in the generator. Pretty easy to replace and can be purchased at any NAPA store. Make sure to note if your generator/regulator is Delco-Remy (most likely) or Autolite. Also, if you replace the regulator or re-install the generator, the regulator must be polarized. This is done by momentarily connecting a jumper wire from the Armature to the Bat terminal on the regulator. Just touch it for a second (it will probably spark a bit but that's OK) and then start the engine.

I installed a 6 volt positive ground self regulating alternator that i bought on ebay and removed the regulator and all its wiring. All i had to do is wire it like a normal alt and ran the wire to the starter where the battery cable goes. The hardest thing was making a new bracket i just welded some angle iron together it took an hour.
