53 Kaiser for sale
« on: October 10, 2008, 09:44:31 PM »
Just wanted to show a Kaiser that i have here in Lexington, KY.

It's a '53, starts perfect, runs and drives great (almost 75k miles on it). Very clean under the hood.

Don't know if it is a Dragon or Manhattan, request some help to figure it out.

It is for sale if someone is interested, $3500 OBO. (Anthony 859.433.9408)

Hi, the Kaiser is definitely not a Dragon. The 1953 Dragon is pretty rare and had a vinyl top and gold plated emblems.  The car looks like it could be a Deluxe (one level lower than a Manhattan) as it does not have the "bullets" on the bumper bridges. Of course this means nothing too as it also does not have the hood ornament or the fender scripts that the 1953s had.  A 1953 Carolina would not have had fender scripts but since the car has a hydramatic, it's likely a Manhattan (although I have seen at least two Carolinas with hydramatics).  The way to tell is look at the tag inside the driver's door and look at the VIN number.  A 1953 Carolina would have a VIN starting with K538, a Deluxe would have a VIN that begins with K531, a Manhattan would have a VIN that begins with K532 and a Dragon would have a VIN that begins with either K530 or K531.
