Kick Panel Attachment in 1951 Henry J
« on: December 06, 2011, 12:11:25 PM »
Can anyone tell me how the Kick Panels are attached in a 1951 Henry J? Mine had been screwed on, whcih I am almost certain is incorrect. I think they may have been glued. remember I am asking about a 1951 as it had the 'POUCH' Kick Panel on the passenger side vs a glove box.

Hey Mark, both of my cars have them fastened with upholstery screws but I cannot say with certainty that they are original. I looked it up in the online parts book so graciously supplied by Jim B of Washington. On page 27 of section 30, under 30-10-14, group 30.602, it lists the kick pads as "Cowl Trim Panels" and list a qty of 14 "Screw with L/W" as the fasteners. KF Part number 203872.  I don't know what the "L/W" means, I doubt that it means "Lock Washer" as in most cases those are called out seperately. Anyone else have any comments/input on what "L/W" refers to?

Does anyone have a picture of the screws? I think I know which kind they are but want to be sure.
