HJ Convertible

I ran across this picture today on a vintage photo site. I wonder where this one is today...if it survived!

I like the "swoopy" roofline! It seems to be right hand drive (unless the negative is reversed) and the car on the left appears to be an old RR/Bentley style, maybe across the pond!

A few K-F dealers made up Henry J convertibles along with a few private parties.  They turn up occasionally on eBay.

I think the pic was made from either a slide or a negative. I blew up a larger version of the pic and text in the background is backwards. I think the car has a Carson top on it. Unusual, to say the least!

Isn't that one of the Skyline roadsters?  .. to which a Carson top has been added?   The Skylines required the doors to be cut down to the level of the "Darrin dip" style line and then have the rear sheet metal changed to match.  And the windshield is lightly chopped.  I'd love to find a Skyline like that - I think they are gorgeous.   The Skyline brochure has artists drawings: until we find an actual Skyline, we won't know how the actual production car(s) looked, so I'm believing the wrap-around windshield did not happen on the cars but that they were more like the B&W photo shown.
