1950 Traveler

I've got a '50 Traveler that I acquired a few years ago, and am now ready to start working on it.  I had hoped to get to Sweetwater this year, but it's beginning to look like that won't happen.  Can any of you folks post or email me some pictures of engine compartment and interior...correctly done?  My car has no door panels or carpet, and the front seat is a brocade while the back seat is vinyl.  Plus somebody tried to paint the engine compartment like a GM product, with semiflat black paint on eveything.  I'll go back to filling up the bullet holes (!) in the body 'til I figure out what the insides should look like!  Thanks!  bigwingnut@aol.com

Hi,

What are the numbers off your body tag and serial number plate?  Serial number tag is on the door post, body tag is on the firewall.  Information will help identify original car color, original interior trim along with some other detail items.  Where is the car at present (city/state)?

Maybe I'm just too dumb to attach a picture, I'll try to put the tag info in words (working from pictures That have spark plug wires in the way, not the actual car!)
Can't read Model code, but it's a Kaiser Traveler
Body 5
Paint 310
Trim 1514
The entries after the trim code are blank, except for "2" under "TR"
Then, in the next line under the entries for Trim and TR are the digits 10 135 393
Next there is a line that includes SL, Spec FO, AG, Sched, & Item NO, but no numbers for any of them.
Last line is Body Number 7858

The car is in Florahome, FL (between Jacksonville and Gainesville), but I'm in Spartanburg SC during the week.

Paint 310 = Claypipe Gray
Trim 1514 = Executive Green Corundle Cord and Vinyl
TR 2 = Standard transmission

Your car should have rubber mats, front and rear, although the pattern will not match. I have a 50 Traveler (black w/red interior) and aside from a front seat reupholster in the correct material, the interior is original. Unfortunately, it's at my other home at the moment. I'll do my best to get some pix posted.

Jack my 49 is all orig. with 14 k miles, would this year be good for photo's for him. Are the similarities the same or too different? thanks kenn if its close enough I can send you photo's.

49 and 50 Travelers are the same. The only real difference is the serial number tag.

14K all original--is it gray with a red interior?  I only ask because I know Sterling Weber owned one like that with that low of mileage, and it was really nice.

Mine is a buff tan color with green interior, green rubber floor mat with a white trim on the back seat and on the bridge between the body and rear gate.  I will download some of the photo's I took in the afternoon.  I purchasd the car for $250.00 at the Ed Bernier Auction in Winslow, AZ.  Ed had over 30 Kaisers when his family auctoned everything to pay some of his expenses. The Traveler still has the 1949 plate and I pulled the passanger door panel to lubricate the linkage to open the door.
