My favorite type of find to restore

I like the fundamentals and lack of "improvements" It would make a good 2 year project.

At 3,000 or so and nearby I would be interested after I fleshed out that title nonsene. If he just lost it a new one is just a trip to the DMV away. The current owner may be holding a considerable problem.

I was giving that one a hard look too Jim. I'm not seriously thinking about it as it won't fit in my budget or garage this year. Only if I sell something!

I sure hope a hot rodder doesn't end up with it...

Sweet car. A title is not necessary on a car that old in many states. I really hope it goes to a club member who will keep it as original as possible and not street rod it. But it's probably worth more as a street rod. C'est l'vie.

I bought a 1953 Allstate without a title last year in California. Arizona requires one and it took almost a year to get it. I hope they find the title for this car.

Title requirements vary from state to state. Some states will allow a "salvage title" which covers a rebuilt wreck if you have a bill of sale. It is always best to first check with your state DOT for what you can and cannot do in this sort of thing, and what kinds of documentation are required.

I was able to get this one so don't worry about it being turned into a hotrod. I just hope I can find some hubcaps for it. Any ideas?

Congratulations Gordie. I'm glad you got. I don't have any hubcaps but someone might have some ideas.

I don't even know what Allstate caps look like but Henry J caps should work in the meantime.

Check out pictures in the HANDBOOK CD. These are a generic, unmarked cap. In the case of the 4 cylinder, baby moons for hub would be good.

Those hub caps are pretty rare. I have 4 on my car, and 2 more spares, just in case any of them come up missing I got them on E bay with a buy it now of $20.00 They were only on a few minutes when I saw them and I grabbed them.
