I had nearly all the exterior chrome for my '53 Manhattan (28 pieces) done this summer at Badger metal finishing in St Francis WI (Milwaukee.) This included pot metal as well as steel. It came out quite well-there were a few pieces with very deep pits that did not get entirely removed, but they aren't that noticeable. Guess there's a limit as to how far down they want to grind. I chose them mainly because they were within driving range of Northern WI and nothing else was. They do a lot of mail order business too. They have an on line quote where you send them pix and they send you back a preliminary estimate. When I actually delivered it, they upped it a small amount, due to the headlight rims I believe which they claimed were boogers. The estimate was 6 weeks, and it came in a little under that. Half down on delivery, and the other half on pickup. Cost me $3200 for the lot. Relatively small, family owned business that has been there a long time. I have only had the chrome for half a year, so I can't attest to durability, but it certainly looks nice. Seem to have followed the protocol. I did notice a lot of work coming in from significant distances, and a lot of testimonials with pix of finished cars on the walls. In the absence of anything closer to you, it might be worth a try to check out their website. Just Google Badger metal finishing St Francis.
