Is that a Virginian?
« on: January 06, 2014, 07:22:20 PM »
Right in front of the drug store?

The slab sides and rear bumper look like '49/'50 K hardtop but the rear window doesn't look right. Of course, it could be a reflection or any number of things. Sure looks like a K from the side.

Sure looks like one! Is it me, or does the pic look like it's been heavily retouched?

rather than a photo it looks like illustrator's art as seen in advertising, maybe as a movie poster or something. The illustrator could have worked up the artwork from a similar photo and then took some liberties. Perhaps in the original photo it was a Kaiser Deluxe convertible with its top up explaining the different look of the rear window?

What is the second car in front of the Virginian?  There is a guy walking in front of it, but has shape of a Henry J?

It does appear to be retouched or an artist rendered picture. Anyway, the more I look at it, the more I am convinced it is a Virginian.
