Floor covering
« on: July 09, 2012, 11:21:55 AM »
Is there a recomended place where I could  order a custom fitting floor carpet for my Henry-J? I have nothing there now but the metal floor that's ready to cover.

Check your parts book.  Henry J's normally used a rubber mat up front moulded for function.

No one really answered the question. Bob, you were looking for pre-cut carpets/floor covering for the Henry J. I don't know of anyone who does that but the club is reproducing the HJ rubber mats and has been for awhile. I believe they are only available in black right now but I've purchased several of them over the years and they're exact matches for what was in the car originally. The price is around $400 if I remember correctly, which might seem high, but by the time you have someone custom cut a carpet you're getting right close to that figure anyway. The mats reproduced by the club will give the car an original look and last a long time. Check your most recent bulletin under the Manufacturing Fund section.

Do these club floor mats go all the way to the trunk or just in the passenger area?

Reproduction floor mats for the HJ are available from the manufacturing fund. I have attached a copy of the order form. **You must be a member in order to order items from the list.**

The mats being sold cover the front and rear seat floors but do not include the trunk. Not too long ago, I was able to find a near match in a shop catalog. It was being sold as a parts counter cover. Now to remember which catalog it was in!!

Joe,

I sure would like to know that catalog for the material to use for the trunk on the 51 HJ. It used a rubber mat in the trunk.
