Less than 1,500 1951 Kaisers and 1 1952 Virginian were assembled on a line at the REO Plant in Leaside Ontario (near Toronto) which originally was a Graham-Paige assembly plant. The cars carry door post serial number plates that state KAISER-FRAZER OF CANADA LTD on them and many have a "2" at the DR header (stateside built cars made for USA sale have a "1" here). Most were Kaiser Special base-line types.
There is some evidence in the form of actual vehicles that suggests some Canadian-built cars had different interior trims than the American-built cars, and that lacquer was used on car bodies. As it appears (at least as far as I know) that there is no dealer paperwork in existance (like the stateside Confidential Bulletins from Kaiser-Frazer Sales Corp) that has this information, we may never know for certain as to what was done. The cars were sold across the Dominion by a network of around 900 dealers.
Leaside production ended at the end of 1951 as military demand for trucks took priority over production of the cars.
