I am modifying a Chevy 8 cyl HEI distributor to fit the 4 cyl in the HJ and found the notch in the oilpump to be offset, as well as the dist shaft. Does anyone know why K/F, Willys would offset the notch in the oilpump and the distributor pin. Having only worked on GM and Fords I have never seen this. I can disassemble the oilpump and mill the slot on center to match the Chevy distributor. Any thoughts?
