Front bumper and Hood Ornament 1949 Kaiser

Is the bar that is connected to my bumper original to a 1949 Kaiser?  Second question: is the hood ornament correct?  I have a parts car that does not have one.

Nice looking 49! The hood ornament looks to be one of the KF authorized buffalo head ornaments. Not a factory installed unit...but dealer available.

The bumper guards and center bar are part of an aftermarket Van Auken style guard set.

Thanks. I bought a couple of weeks ago. Would most people leave the guard on or remove it?  One more question the car is supposed to be carabbean coral. It has the script on the drivers side but not the passenger side. Is there supposed to be script on both sides?

Nice looking '49 Joe. Regarding the script... what's the VIN on the car (tag between hinges on the driver's door)?
If it's a K491, then originally it would not have had any scripts on the fenders as only the deluxe models had the color scripts on the fenders. If it's a K492, then it would have had the scripts on both fenders.
Restorers often liked to add those items (the scripts in particular) if and when they found them so if it only has one it may have been added like the hood ornament and bumper bar.
It's hard to tell from the picture if the car is a standard (K491) or deluxe (K492).
Regarding that and other items on it; it is your car so if you like those items on it, leave it as it is.
If your goal is to get as close to original as possible, then check said numbers first and that will determine what it would've had originally.

It is a 492. I do not see holes on the passenger side but the car has been painted so perhaps the holes were filled. I will have to hunt for more script. I have a parts car that is polar grey and it had the script on both sides.

I'd like to put the car back to the original color. The interior has not been painted nor the door jams. If I am trying to get to the original color would I take a piece of trim to have it matched or is there a paint code out there somewhere that would tell them how to mix it?

The paint code on the plate is 195 the trim is 271

Cool. Caribbean Coral is beautiful color. The holes could have been filled or the fender may have been replace... a lot can happen to a car in 64 years. If  you're member of the club, run an ad in the bulletin - seems to me there were some scripts for sale not too long ago.
