Generator bracket bushings
« on: January 14, 2014, 10:43:12 AM »
My mechanic has told me that I need the "bracket bushings" for the Delco-Remy generator on my '53 Henry J (4-cylinder).  The NAPA part is supposed to be #5242, but their web site indicates this is for a 12-volt system (mine is 6-volt).  Any suggestions or advice on where to get these?  Thanks in advance, guys!

The bushing should be same as used on Chevrolet pick-up trucks, 6 cylinder, 1950-54.

I can't imagine the voltage matters when it comes to bushings. Some of those entries on NAPA's site had required fields and voltage may be one. So, someone enters 12 just because most vehicles are and it won't matter. The Chevrolet ones should work fine.  NAPA's site should give physical specs (size, dia, etc.) so you can verify it that way I believe.
