Sounds great!  It is always best when you can stop and see the country when you go pick up an old car.  Makes the trip more then just a go and come home deal and that Kirtland sounds very interesting as does the thought of living in a home about as old as Kirtland's temples. (Jim)

You will have to put some high resolution photos of the car on here when you get it.

I will. Looking forward to meeting Joe, seeing his cars and the whole trip. My 49 is almost ready to paint and I have the insides ready to install. So maybe by the time I am done I can start on this one. It being a two door Traveler is what sold me. I was thinking about a Frazer but guess this one will do. Maybe when I am finished a Frazer will appear. If I'm not careful I'll be like Joe with 5 of them in the driveway.

Something at work interfered with me leaving town so the car is still available. It will be about a month before another window of opportunity opens up for me so if the car is still there then I'll get it then.

That's too bad.  Was the negotiated price $500?  I would be willing to go in on a $250 donation for a KF member local to the car (not meaning you Jim) to at least grab it and save it for now.  I am afraid that this one will go to the crusher if there is no sincere interest.

I would buy it but would need to move my BMW out, and there have been no takers.  So a free will donation to a motivated buyer is the best I can do right now.

I had offered 700 for it. If it will hold for a month I'll come after it. I just can't get lose from work right now.

The seller called me yesterday and wants it gone. He didn't tell me the top offer but I see it here....mine was half that. Apparently, he's being pressured to clear the lot of non-runners. I don't know the seller beyond one meeting when I first looked over the car so I don't know how much of that pressure is real or just his desire to make the car go away.

If I had the space I'd say park it here but I already have two 47s, an 81 Eldorado, and my truck sitting outside. Things are just a bit tight!

Anyone else active in the club near by? With a field?   ;D

At least we know it won't be over $700.  Let me see if I can call him tonight. Hopefully not too late. Remember, crushers pay $250-$400 a ton, so it could go anytime.

The transport would be more then the purchase, for me.  Jim, would the car roll or are some tires shot?  I have had a heck of a time lately when cars are picked up by my transporter, one or more tires are beyond holding air and it's not fair to him to load it at $1 a loaded mile.

Otherwise my "Save a Kaiser" offer still stands. $250 toward it's purchase and saving.  I saved a 52 Buick and a 50 Hudson last year in the same way.

I called today and he agreed to hold the car until the first week of July. My plan would be to go get the car then. If someone buys it before then that's ok with me. If not my plan is to get up there then and get the car.

The tires hold air and it does roll. This car is worth a restoration.

Just spoke with the owner. The car is still available. If all goes well I will be there on the 26/27 of June to get it.

Got a call today from the owner...the car needs to go. It sits at the rear of a mixed use commercial area and I'm guessing the city is after him to move it. I have 5 KF products now and do not need 6. If anyone out there is interested, please contact me and I'll pass along the seller's info.

Had a lot of things happen including losing one job and starting another. I'll buy the car but can't get up there to get it for a month or so. Do you have a place to hold it for 30  to 60 days?  If so I'll send a check.

I too would have purchased it if there was a local (within 100 miles) KFOCI member that could keep it for 30 days.  Need to shuffle cars around.  I have more coming in then going out.  So, the cost of the vehicle is not the issue for us.  As noted, it's the distance and cost to transport.   Making the hobby more of a local hobby more and more.  It takes a really special car to justify expense and commitment to go get.

I am in the middle of a purchase of a 1942 Packard 180 Limousine out of Berwick, Nova Scotia that I offered $2000 to the seller thinking there was no way he would accept.  No one else stepped forward, a lot of talk, and so he accepted my offer on a 30 year, inside heated stored very rare CCCA full classic.

Transport has been the issue.  Transport is $2500, which I why offered $2000 for a $7000 + car.  I should be OK price wise getting the car all in for $4500.  But the fun just starts there. I have found exactly 2 transporters to do the move, and had to use UShip which I don't care for.  It's not here yet, but I have already paid for the car and will front 1/2 on the transport.  I use a great shipper out of Wisconsin for domestic moves at $1 a loaded mile.

The car is located about 20 minutes from me but unfortunately, I have nowhere to store it. On the one hand, more space would be great but on th other, it wouldn't be hard to end up with too many toys!
