Still awaiting delivery on my 51 and have spent the meantime researching kaiser topics. One posting I ran across suggested not boring this particular  engine beyond .020- if done, the cylinder walls would overheat, resulting in "catastrophic engine failure" or such.

My car's engine has been bored to .040 with new pistons, cam , etc. Should I be concerned? Anyone successfully running an engine bored to .040?

I have a 54 Early Special that is bored .060 over and a 47 Frazer Manhattan that is .080 over and they both run good. One KF Club member bored his 51 Kaiser .125 over and put Massey Harris tractor pistons in it and it worked okay. The tractor pistons require a tractor head gasket to accommodate the larger bore.

What a relief - I suspected the article I saw was more opinion than fact, as most engines can be bored ..040 or more with no repercussions. Thanks!
