A quick recap of the convention:
- There were 31 cars judged with a few more coming and going during the week. In the mix was the aforementioned special order 51J, a 51 Business Coupe, a 50 Frazer convertible, a 55 2dr Manhattan, and a 54 2dr Early Special.
- About 160 folks attended the Thursday evening banquet.
- Car museums were popular attractions, the attendees were treated to two different venues, both packed with some very interesting (including K-F and W) cars.
- Several of the constitution and by-laws proposals were approved. The next issue of the monthly news bulletin will detail which ones.
- The KFOCI museum proposal was approved. The museum will be housed at the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum, just a short drive from where K and F cars where assembled from 1946 thru 1953.
- A proposal to upgrade the club website was approved. The upgrade will include new membership pages which will allow those joining the club or renewing their membership to do so with greater ease. In addition, a members-only section will be created giving the club the flexibility of additional content that's not available online or in print today.
- A tradition repeated by the late Blanche Mericle to hold a farewell toast on Friday morning was held for the last time.
And, if you missed the convention, you missed pouring over a huge collection of service related literature, film strips, and advertising. It was quite impressive!
