well my car has NEVER been stored or parked NOT on its wheels,
so it has the FULL 63 years of SAG to the leaf springs.

The Vagabond rear wheel well measure 21-1/4" from the floor.  The tire diameter is 25", with the stock wheels and P165-15 VW radials.

It was 70 degrees here today so I went out and got my '52 Henry J Vagabond home. I'll have a measure tomorrow or later in the week. Runs and drives great, just needs a good wash.

aloha.. I recently drove a 51 HJ that had coilover shocks on the rear. I ASSUME it was to correct sagging springs. The ride was great.Stiffer than a stock HJ,which in my opinion tends to wallow.

Like to know the shock/coil over if you find it.

when i take mine off i'll measure the extended / collapsed  and cross them to a rear shock that has the overload coils on it from the factory... and i 'll post  the part numbers  with pricing.

our 53  on a SIDE note whats the shock measure  fully pulled open and collapsed?, if you get a chance to put  a tape to it.

reason i ask is  i MIGHT cross the shock over to  the Monroe shocks that have coil springs already on them....

i don't want air shocks just a little boost to ride height .( 1 er 2 inches MAX )

i only asked cause your bottom bolt is off.. thought it ed be EASY  to put a TAPE  to....
closed and open measurements

The  springs you add to the shocks are a pain. If you don't get the clamps just right the spring will rub the shock.
