Greetings all.

I'm a newbie. Just barn-found a '51 4 door Special in pretty solid overall condition, other than the interior ... which has been housing for a few critters over time.

I'm looking for an authentic material headliner and seat covers provider.

I know I can have things custom made, but wonder if anyone has found a small shop that has done this for them and done an top notch job ... or if there are any mass production outfits whose stuff is worthy of that distinction as well.

Also looking for an exhaust manifold for the 226 6 banger.

Marty I just did the headliner in a 1949. There is a manufacture that produces the headlinerut, sewn and ready to install for about $200. The problem is limited colors. I went to a local shop with a faded sample and foun a fabric that was very very close to texture and color. I bought the material, sent it to the manufacture who made the headliner out of the frabrac I sent him. The local shop also ordered wind lace. They installed the whole thing and it cost me $1,100. They came to my shop to install. I did not want to leave my freshly painted car at there shop to get scratched. Was also having starting problems at the time. So I probably paid more for labor than if I had taken the car to them.

I was very pleased with the outcome but it was pricy for a headliner in my opinion.

Here is how my bill broke out

Material $117
Wind lace $80
Headliner $188
Labor $600

Tax $75
Total $1,199
