Brake light switch interchange info

Does all KF cars 47-50 and 51-55 all use the same Brake light switch ?

Are these available new at the stores?

I got a new one for my 53K from Napa.  I didn't have a number or anything, but we looked in their book.  If I remember right there were two choices and one of them didn't work, but they had a picture of it and so the correct part was obvious.

A NAPA SL134 works for most cars of the era.

Looks like they've gone up in price. Last one I bought, in 2007, was $3.50

You are talking about Hydraulic Brake Light switches aren't you? 52-55 Kaisers had mechanical switches that worked off the movement of the brake pedal rather than the pressure in the steel brake lines.

A hydraulic brake light switch is a simple on/off switch that is plumbed into the steel brake lines. There is no polarity. Almost all have 1/8 NPT threads. The big difference is in the prongs/contacts. Some take clips, some take ring terminals, some take female bayonet connections, and some (I shake my head in dispair) have mixed connections. Fords used this type of switch for several decades and their switch used .177 bayonet connections. Your wiring is bad anyway. Use a Ford switch and repair the wiring as necessary.

I'm talking about the mechanical switch, which is what I bought from NAPA and is a near exact replacement for the original.
