I wrote this car off as an early 51 someone put virginian scripts on ,was i wrong ? Now it's back up for sale again.    I thought all the late 51 bodies that became 52 virginians had the smooth firewall , did a few sneak through ?

The owner sent me the serial number today , K512 065596  so it is a clone .

The car is titled as a 51. Owner states he added the Virginian script and the hood ornament plastic. Note the 51 KISER  plates.  I thought only early 51s got Darrin script .

I would've said all '51s and early '52s  (Virginians) had the "Darrin Styled" scripts but I was updated by another member who informed me the earliest '51 Kaisers did not have it. I have a '51 that is one of earlier ones but not one of the earliest - my dad got I from the original owner's widow in 1991 and it was purchased new in Aug of 1950. It has it so they changed it sometime early in the model year. I'll have to see if that info is in the Handbook.
From what I've read, all '47s had it but only early '48s had it.
Anyway, the badge was added shortly into the model year and continued through so a '52 Virginian would have it.

Current information says ALL 1951 Kaiser/1952 Virginian models had the tag.  There is no start or break point in the Parts Books.

Yes, someone asked the seller for the door post serial number and the seller posted it. Based on that, it is indeed a '51 Kaiser Deluxe, not a '52 Kaiser Virginian Deluxe. The '52 Virginian had fender script which simply said "Virginian" not "Kaiser Virginian" as shown in some of the pictures (some pics only show 'Virginian' - I wonder which it currently has?) so this one has been "enhanced" to look like a '52 Virginian but it's a '51 Kaiser.

The Continental Kit was available from Barrington and could've been added at anytime. The tags always tell the tale.
