A beautiful de luxe, but why the 51 wheel covers, the Manhattan lower window trim, and the Carolina headlight bezels??

So what did this beautiful car go for at auction?

1951 Wheel covers are often used when the correct ones (which are harder to find) cannot be found. Seems the '51 covers are everywhere (check out ebay, there's always multiple listings for them) but the '52 - '55 style are harder to find. I'm guessing the restorer didn't know about the other stuff too. Often people add the fancy trim to the low end cars, that's quite common actually.

In addition to what Fid said about the 51 full wheel covers, they are made out of a heavier gauge stainless steel than the 52-55 full wheel covers. The 51 wheel covers do not dent as easy and stay on better than the 52-55 wheel covers.
