1952 Willys Ace for Sale
« on: September 01, 2015, 11:29:39 PM »
There is a 1952 Willys 2door Ace for sale in Meridian ID which is near Boise.  The ad says the car has a 4cylinder which clearly isn't the case as the picture of the engine compartment shows 6 spark plug wires.  The seats are missing.  $3100 is a lot to ask for this car in my opinion - it needs a lot of work, but body is straight and most trim appears to be there.

I count 6 plug wires (3 in each group) on this car.

The Willys, just like the Henry J, is very popular with the rod and custom crowd so even though they were cheap, no frills cars, they tend to bring a lot of $$. My bet is this one will likely get customized so the number of cylinders and lack of seats will not be an issue.

Car is definitely a 1952 Aero Ace and appears relatively complete and in decent condition. $3100 might be a little steep for a restorer since the car restored is only worth about $100 more (LOL). Actually, to do a proper restoration on that car, you'd have at least $15K in a $12K tops car. A well-done street rod could bring as much as maybe $30K or more. It's unfortunate that these cars are not worth more restored because they are great cars in every respect. If you are looking for one, you can find a decent driver for about the same price as this one.

The phone number for second listing (for the Willys Aero Falcon) is located in Idaho Falls, ID.  That is 289 mile or a 4.5 Hour drive on I-84 from Meridian, ID (the location of the Willys Aero Ace).  "Close" is a relative term out West!
