Should it not have a vinyl top ? Or was that only certain years ?  Nice interior .

1951 No Manhattan Kaiser.

First 51 Dragons did not have Vinyl Tops.

They need more Vin Info With Paint & Trim Numbers.
Research on All Vinyl Dragons & Dragon List.

The first 1951 Kaiser Deluxe with Dragon Vinyl Trim did not have padded tops or two-tone paintwork.  I agree with others who have already posted & said that the numbers off the body tag are needed to determine what is what.

What I cannot understand is this VIN business.  The VIN number on most cars of the period is the engine number or door post serial number depending on state.  This tells you nothing except (if you use the motor) if the engine was built with undersize or oversize bearings, etc.  How does that tell you anything about color, interior upholstery, equipment, etc?  Please 'splain it to me.

What you need is a picture of the body tag that clearly shows the details it carries.

The back seat is visible in the lower picture and the material is pleated which indicates it's vinyl. When I pulled up the CL ad it's clear the car has dragon vinyl upholstery. But, as others have pointed out, without pictures of the tags there's no way to know for sure.

I spoke to the gentleman and he said it was all original, and he is going to send me a photo of the firewall plate. Although I noticed the rocker panels need work, and a new Caribbean coral paint job, if its not to rusted I may be interested. I'll let you know what the plate says.

Members can look up the PAINT/TRIM numbers for the car using the 1951 KAISER DELUXE 4-DOOR SEDAN WITH DRAGON TRIM item in KFOCI HANDBOOK.  Remember that in 1951 this was a trim package for the 1951 K5121 rather than a separate series as it was in 1953.  I will not have my stuff unpacked for awhile so at the moment, this is the best I can do.
