Just bought a 48 so the guy wouldnt scrap it and am unfamiliar with thease cars. It has aircondition . How does it work. I see no compressor. But appears to have a coil. Im just tryin to learn about it ao i can see what works. Goin to sell it i just couldn't let it go to scrap. Thanks

Kaiser-Frazer, like Nash Motors offered "conditioned air" in its heater/defroster system. Incoming air to the heater box passed through a venturi passage (diameter narrows through passage causes air flow in the section to speed up) which removed a bit of moisture from the air and the speed up flow cooled it slightly. There is NO air conditioning as we know it today in any K-F product as factory equipment.

Thanks for the info. I wasnt sure because the unit says AIR CONDITION so i guess that was their was of advertising it back then. Thanks again.

Yes "Air Conditioner" had a different meaning in 1947/48. It was not the same as we know it today.

Air conditioning is anything you do to air . You can cool it , heat it , move it , humidify it , de-humidify and so on .
