Oil Filter
« on: October 30, 2015, 06:14:59 PM »
I have a 54 Special engine in my car, it has a Guard oil filter with a non replaceable element, I would like to replace the canister with one that would allow me to change the element, naturally the new canister would have to have elements available. If someone wants to sell one I would appreciate it, thanks.

Thanks Jake,
I sure wish I had one that looked like that, LOL
No point in changing the oil until I get one, or do I have other options? Can I some how clean the sealed stock one or do I just by pass it completely ? Don't make much sense putting clean oil in with a dirty filter, the oil looks clean now but I don't know when it was changed last, I have run the engine but would rather get some fresh stuff in there with proper additives, ETC. Hard for me to believe Kaiser would do something like that, their engineers should have been shot, were the ones produced in South America still the same?
