How would that application affect a supercharger?

The supercharger uses a carb that sits under a cover and is pressurized. If, somehow one was able to make both the two carb manifold and supercharger fit under the hood, both carbs would have to be pressurized.

Edmunds also offered an aluminum cylinder head for the 226. It's much harder to find today.

Rudy Phillips and I drove his '51 Deluxe coupe from San Diego to Pigeon Forge in 1984 for the KFOCI National. We made it in 4 days and had no problems. It had this exact set-up and ran flawlessly. The windshield wipers didn't work when we needed them, but that was not the fault of the Edmunds intake manifold. I do not know what carbs were mounted on them.

A aluminum head was probably "shaved" which raised compression for more HP. This would
require premium gas and the raised compression would generate more heat. Not good for
the valves on flat heads for durability.
