Locked up motor

The 53 Henry J I picked up in Parker, Colorado has a frozen motor. I am trying MMO and fuel system cleaner hoping to free it up The head says Willys Jeep. Did they use these heads on the Henry J or did someone change it?

It would appear the head has been changed, or possibly the entire motor. Does the motor have the Kaiser-Frazer tag on the side?


If so, the head was likely changed.
The engine number should be in 3500000 range.

Another way to tell if the engine was changed, does it have a Delco or Autolite distributor/starter/generator?  A '53 should have Delco. If it has Autolite, especially an Autolite starter, then the engine was changed.

It does have Delco Starter and Distributor and the Kaiser tag is on the side of the block

It would appear to still have the original engine. Regarding the head, only Willys vehicles said "Super Hurricane" on them. I had an original "Supersonic" HJ 4 cylinder head for years but sold it to a Jeep owner who didn't mind that it said "Kaiser Supersonic" on it. The late '53s may have had the other head if they were just grabbing engines to finish cars. I could see this for sure if this if it were a '54. Regarding the '53, I have not seen one that doesn't say "Kaiser Supersonic" on it. The parts book lists only one type but that doesn't necessarily mean this type could not have been used in some Js.

I use Marvels Mystry Oil to free Engine. Put in cylinders let soak. Pry on fly wheel , more
Then add to oil to keep free. Also good for upper lube.

Was given a Fiat many years ago with a frozen 4cyl engine, owner burnt the clutch out of it puling it to break it free.
Squirted MMO down the plug holes to soak and cranked it over with the starter later. PITA to put a clutch in........... through the LF wheel well after removing suspension.

I filled the cylinders with MMO and 3 of them had leaked down to nothing today. The forth was still full. I was able to turn the motor over with a big cheater bar. They all moved about 1/2". I shall continue with this task.
