Mind you, this is strictly my own opinion, but to new members or non-members planning to tackle the restoration of ANY K-F product, I strongly suggest you get the following BEFORE beginning any work...
1. Appropriate K-F parts book for your vehicle. Many parts vendors inside and outside the club work off part numbers rather than "a _____ from a 1951 Kaiser", etc. The illustrated books are best as they show breakdowns of assemblies. Be advised that certain books can be useful in later model year situations. For instance, the 1951 Orange cover Illustrated 1951 Kaiser Parts Book is also used (with an additional supplement) for 1952 and 1953 model year cars and is also a good resource for some areas of the 1954-55 Kaisers. 1951 Frazers do not have an illustrated book.
2. Appropriate K-F shop manual for your vehicle. Again, 1951 Kaiser and Frazer book with supplements works through 1953 and the 1951-52-53 edition of the HJ manual also works for 1954 model year cars. For 1947-48, I suggest the blue cover 1947-49 as it goes into more useful detail than the green cover 47-48; the blue cover also works with 1950 model year cars.
