Thought you'd all appreciate this: the canceled check that my dad bought the J that I now own with--in 1957! Also, the PA registration card from 1965 when he got it back from his little sister (He made a deal with her that she could borrow the car and drive it to college in IN in '62, as long as she got it repainted. Sure enough, she did--but that Kaiser Cerulean Blue J came home for Thanksgiving in Earl Scheib fire engine red).

And a note from Dad telling me that I'm invited to reimburse him the $375 he paid for the car. Yeah, I gotta get around to that...

Interesting - thanks for sharing. My dad paid $65 for the '53 I now have. I paid him $1500 for it in '82.

Great car, Fid! What color is that? I'm wondering if that's the color mine is supposed to be. I was born 8 years after mine was painted red, so I've never seen it in any other color (although everything under the trim, underhood, firewall, etc. is the original color)...

Sorry I never answered the question. The color on my '53 is Peac0ck blue, paint code 203 which was only available on the '53 so it would not be same as any '51 or '52.  The color is the reason I chose to buy the car way back when. Still my favorite KF color.

I think my 53 was pea****** blue poly. I am unsure of the poly descriptor .I think it meant poly-chromatic. It may have had minute particles of mica suspended in it and it was darker than just plain Pea****** Blue. I realize that it is not listed as available but time has taught me to not swear by the "official" documents.

"Poly" is the abbreviation for Poly-chromatic, as you stated. You can substitute "metallic" for poly-chromatic. I have paint chips for Aeros that use the Poly designation.
