Newberry Springs is in the desert near Barstow in Southern CA and near the beginning of I-40.  If it has spent most of its life there it should be rust free.

I rarely like the early Kaisers, but this one appears to be a legitimate 57,000 mile desert car and could be restored and be a nice example of the early slab siders.

I would not mind having a hood emblem as a stand alone collected piece. I don't recall having one on the 2 early Kaiser parts cars I had but those were 1949's.  If any one has a spare Kaiser buffalo hood ornament that could be displayed, I will purchase it.
No old cars owned.

The '47 and '48 emblems were different than the '49/'50 style.
They're all over ebay.
This one looks like its had a little touch-up work -

This one is better but the price is a bit ridiculous -

And there's more if you keep digging.

Until recently, I had a large stock of parts for a 47/48 including a complete NOS interior. I don't think I had $1000 in everything which tells you how I expensively one can restore an early Kaiser. This car needs it all, but you wouldn't have a kings ransom in restoring it.
