Attended an auction today where this car sold. It is missing the doors, hood and both rear lids. Apparently, a few years ago someone broke into where the car was stored and stole the items. As you can see from the pictures, the paint is peeling badly
due to improper prep. Aside from some light body damage that happened when the doors were pried off, the car is solid.
The buyer owns another Darrin and plans to use it for patterns to make the missing parts.
At the same auction, a 1926 Rolls Royce was sold, as well as a nice 57 Buick, several Corvairs and Volkswagens, along with a Model T truck and an assortment of parts and other goodies.
