Lane Motor Museum - Tom Wilson's Davis car
« on: September 04, 2016, 09:05:24 AM »
Visited the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville yesterday and noticed the Davis car on display had a Frazer horn button and suspected it was Tom Wilson's and sure enough. I see Tom is still listed in the 2016 roster and I tired to email him, but the email was non-deliverable.

Tom is not well but has maintained his membership.

The pictured Davis has several KF parts that Tom added over the years. The horn button and rear bumper are a few that come to mind. He had at least two Davis's that I can remember, the other was dark green, and one of them...maybe this one...sports a Henry J four cylinder engine. I believe the original was a Hercules four.

Tom had this one at the national in Dearborn in '74.  Back in the days of the old chat page he informed me that he painted it red with spray cans and later had it done back to the original light green.  I last saw it in the NATMUS museum in Auburn while attending the 2004 national, 30 years almost to the day when I had first seen it.

Last I saw Tom was a couple of years ago. He had another Davis that he was restoring. The frame and drive train had been done and he was just starting on the body. This is that car....amazing that he kept finding them!
